McDonald International Academy
Located in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Most of the students come from overseas (majority from Asia, especially Korea) in order to complete their secondary school education and to
continue their university education in North America. The school offers grades 10 through 12 as well as ESL courses. Students’ language ability will be tested upon arrival and they will be placed
in one of four ESL levels or in the regular English program, depending on their test results.
Students can work toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) as well as the required Ontario Academic Credit (OAC) courses for university acceptance in Ontario. Most of the courses offered are advanced level courses. Typical course load for a
student is four classes.
McDonald International Academy has implemented a state-of-the-art computer facility. This allows students to be computer-efficient in all academic areas and to be successful and competent in their future studies. Academy is hooked up to the Internet and library has many of the latest CD-ROM disks to assist students in research and provide them with entertainment.
Regular attendance and handing in homework promptly are expected and either student services or the Principal will deal with problems in these areas.
