Spending time abroad during college is becoming an increasingly popular choice for students.
According to the Open Doors Annual Report published by the Institute of International Education, 191,321 American students studied abroad in the 2003-2004 school year. Of the 8,790 from Texas schools, Baylor contributes 1,108 students, according to the report.

Scholarship fund looking for applicants

The Saline County Single Parent Scholarship Fund will be accepting applications from now until June 30, 2006.
The scholarship fund is sponsored by Central Arkansas Development Council, a United Way agency. The fund reportedly has awarded 278 scholarships totaling more than $140,000 since 1990.
