The textile industry in Tamil Nadu will create about 50 lakh new jobs by 2015, according to a survey conducted by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Identifying the textile sector as one of the State’s high growth sectors, the study estimated that it would become a 40 to 50 billion dollar business by 2015. “The textile industry is highly influenced by the Government policy support, globalisation and the impact of WTO, development in retailing and technology,” the study said, adding the State was well positioned to capitalise on the post-WTO scenario since it has an established industry base.>>www.indiadaily.com/breaking_news/66956.asp
