LTC construction classes grant

There was big money coming into Lafayette Technical College Friday. The school received a 1.3 million dollar grant to train workers for construction jobs. Following the hurricanes there’s a demand for construction workers.

College Grant: Grant honored by Albion College

Michael J. Grant of Santa Ana was inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame during the weekend.
Grant, a two-time All-MIAA first- team defensive back, earned All-America honors and was selected the MIAA most valuable defensive player in 1986. Grant also played lacrosse and graduated magna cum laude.

College Students Rally For Higher Education Funding

College students in Birmingham are rallying in support of state funding for higher education.
Members of several UAB student organizations hosted the rally on Friday in an effort to persuade legislators to prevent cutbacks in state money to Alabama’s four-year colleges and universities. The money helps keep tuition costs down and provides schools with needed resources.
