Students urged not to miss deadline for loan applications
The Bank of Taiwan yesterday reminded would-be student loan applicants not to miss the Feb. 27 deadline set for next semester.
A spokesman for the bank said that its student loan programs have attracted some 300,000 applicants each semester in previous years.
However, only 30,000 students have applied so far, with some 3,000 applications being filed each day, he said, adding that the bank wishes to remind those students hoping to make use of the loan program not to miss the deadline.
The spokesman suggested that applicants can save time by accessing the bank’s Web site at: https://sloan.bot.com.tw to fill out the application forms online first before going to any of the bank’s 150 branches for follow-up procedures.
Currently the Bank of Taiwan’s student loans carry a floating interest rate at 3.54 percent, adjusted every three months on the first day of February, May, August and November.
