U of I announces new scholarship programs to attract quality students
BOISE, Idaho - The University of Idaho announced two new scholarship programs today aimed at bringing high quality students to the school.
The first program would provide a minimum of $6,000 in scholarship money over four years to top Idaho high school grads — those with a g-p-a of 3.5 or higher.
The school is also raising the amount of annual scholarships it pays National Merit Scholars from $6,000 to more than $10,000.
University of Idaho President Tim White says “The University of Idaho is committed to academic excellence, accessibility and affordability for Idaho students. This program is an example of our university’s commitment to the state’s future.”
Students who receive the scholarships must maintain a 3-point-oh g-p-a to remain eligible. The university has waived the normal scholarship deadlines for these two programs, so students entering as freshmen can qualify for them until the first day of school in the fall 2007 semester.
