A 5-kilometer race is planned for Sunday, April 29, to benefit the Tanner Birch and Kyleigh D’Alessio Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The walk or run will start from West Morris Central High School on Bartley Road at 1 p.m.
Register at www.wmchs.org or from 11:30 a.m. at the race site on Sunday.
Entry fee for the race is $20, which supports the scholarship fund.
All entrants will receive a free race T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners.
The fund-raiser is co-sponsored by the West Morris Central track and field team and the school’s girls lacrosse team.
A picnic with food is promised for the runners and walkers. There will be automated timing for the race, with online posting of times at the conclusion of the event.
The scholarship fund was established to honor the memory of Tanner Birch and Kyleigh D’Alessio, who were killed in an automobile accident on Dec. 21. Both students were juniors at West Morris Central.
