NYPD Announces Scholarship In Honor Of Fallen Auxiliary Officers

The NYPD announced Friday that a scholarship fund will be established in memory of auxiliary police officers Nicholas Pekearo and Eugene Marshalik, who were shot and killed last month in Greenwich Village.
The two were on patrol at the time and were unarmed.
The fund will be for auxiliary officers who want to pursue higher education.

Humboldt boy lands $60,000 scholarship

A 17-year-old Humboldt student has been awarded a scholarship worth more than $60,000 to attend a prestigious college in British Columbia.
Adam Harding will begin a two-year international baccalaureate program at Lester B. Pearson United World College near Victoria, B.C., this fall, living and studying with 200 students from 88 countries.
