IGP increases amount of education scholarship
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Ahmad Nasim has increased the amount of education scholarship for the children of martyrs, retired and serving police officials so that their financial burden could be reduced.
The decision was taken in a special meeting chaired by IGP held on Wednesday to review different matters regarding welfare of police officials. The meeting was told that scholarship amount of intermediate, I Com has been increased to Rs 2400 from Rs 1500, while Rs 3600 from Rs 3000 for B.A and MA. Rs 12000 scholarship will be given to MBBS and engineering students, while Rs 28000 for the students residing in hostels. It was also decided that the students of agriculture and forestry will be given scholarships whose ratio will be Rs 6000, while Rs 12000 will be given to the students residing in hostels. Scholarship amount Rs 6000 will be given to the special students.
Police officials have been asked to get applications for scholarships of their children who are in FA FSc and I.Com till January 31, 08 and submit the same with the office till February 7, 08.The students who obtained 45 percent marks in metric examination will be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
IGP said that implementation had immediately been started in this regard. He has directed the field police officers to inform the police officials at all level in their respective areas regarding the increase of scholarships so that they could benefit from this facility.
