College scholarship available

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association/Farmers Insurance Group scholarship program will give $30,000 to 10 different graduating student athletes at the conclusion of the spring season.

The scholarships, which will range in amounts of $2,500 to $5,000, are an effort by Farmers to assist those who are college bound and signed to continue their athletic career at an NCAA Division I, II, III or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics institution.

The NIAA-Farmers Scholarship Program funds will be distributed between three regions of the state - Northern, Eastern and Southern - in the form of college/university tuition aid scholarship money. The NIAA will conduct a “scholarship search” beginning in March through a student-athlete application process. The eligibility requirements, listed on the application, will take into account athletic accomplishments, academic successes, community service projects and need basis. College/university acceptance and commitment must already have been achieved by the student-athlete.
