Borno budgets N300m for scholarship
The Borno government has earmarked N300 million in its 2008 budget for the award of scholarship to students in tertiary institutions.
The Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari, made this known Thursday in Maiduguri an interview with news men.
Alhaji Kyari said the award would enable the poor and the less privileged to benefit from that level of education.
The commissioner restated the resolve of Gov. Ali Sheriff’s administration to ensure that educational opportunities were provided majority of the people.
He, however, urged parents to enroll their wards at all levels of education as their future as leaders depended on knowledge acquired at school.
